Habit: The stiff leaves are deep green and in a sunny situation form dark purple patches on the leaf and about the base. These leaves are about 500 to 600 long by 45 wide with rounded tips, and as the plant grows it forms a medium - sized, loose rosette. The plant has marginal teeth which are inconspicuous on the leaf edges.
