Emblem
From a Sailors Grave 1996
840 x 600- Lloyd Godman
These
are the first series of images where the photosensitive emulsion
has been deliberately painted on the paper surface as a
motif rather than complete covering. The application is
in the semi dark of a safelight and because the emulsion is a
yellow colour it has a similarity to painting with invisible colour.
The
motifs are references from grave markers and beacons on the Auckland
Islands.
