the use of Lines in visual design

Lines also have the means of expression, horizontal lines suggest calm and a placid feeling than diagonal lines. The horizon is a fundamental reference point, it is linked to gravity and has a strong visual stability. Horizontal lines also express, restfulness, calm and weight. When there is little content in the photograph the horizon can also suggest distance and breadth. We also tend to assume it continues on beyond the edge of the frame.
When we have both vertical and horizontal lines they intersect each other.
