What is the effect of different shutter speeds?

When we select a shutter speed to shoot an scene the speed dictates certain characteristic that will have an effect on the image.

I also used a high speed (400 ISO pushed to 1800 ISO) film to giving a fast shutter speed for this image from the Last Rivers Song Project.

For this image I used 1/15 sec to gain blur in the figure

I also used a slow speed of several minutes using (25 ISO rated at 6 ISO ) film and a series of Neutral density filters to assist with giving a long shutter speed for this image from the Last Rivers Song Project.
