Alternative Processes - Light sensitive chemicals
In these
emulsions the image is formed by the light sensitive chemical itself.
Usually during the process there is a change in the chemical nature
of the emulsion that alters the areas effected by light and allows the
other areas to be reduced away leaving a recognizable image. So the
tone of the image is actually formed by the chemical.
