Entropy Rotation I - Rotating suspended tillandsia plant work - June -2011
I had been thinking of creating a large rotating living Tillandsia plant sculpture and there seemed no better place to begin than the Bicycle Wheel ready-made by Marcel Duchamp. So I found a discarded bicycle wheel and installed the plants. The plants are orientated aerodynamically so the wind rotates the work. Over time as the plants grow the only maintenance needed is to remove excess growth which provides more plants for further work - in this way the art work is super- sustainable.
An experimental rotating living plant sculpture of tillandsias or air plants by Ecco artist Lloyd Godman from the "Lloboratory" Feb 2011. This is a super sustainable art work where as the plants grow some are removed to produce more living art works.
