ANU Canberra - Green Expectations - © Lloyd Godman

Peter Fitzpatrick from ANU was on a residency in Prague when he called into the largest photo shop in the city. He picked up a copy of B&W Magazine and found the feature with the Carbon Obscura Images - ( B & W magazine, USA - issue 57 - Spotlight feature pages 88 - 95- interview with Dean Brierly) - so he emailed me as soon as he could to book me in for a slot at Photospace ANU as part of VIVID 2008. Peter is a fantastic guy full of energy and great to work with. We discussed bringing the Carbon Obscura structure from Morwell to ANU. The Regional Gallery at LaTrobe kindly gave approval and within in a few months he had the school van and we were headed for Morwell to pick it up. Stuffed in and on top of the van we then headed for Canberra.

The site for the work was to be the roof landing outside the photospace gallery.

Early on a sunday morning I went down to take some photographs and the light was so wonderful streaming in that I wondered how it would look projected onto the human figure, so I stripped off and took some images.
