Cropping Investigation

Take one of your images and crop it in five different ways to create new images that instill a different meaning or emotional feeling.

Try -

	A square format
	rectangles with a different orientation - portrait instead of landscape -
	try orientating the frame on strange angles. Orientate the edge of the frame to a line - in this case the hand on the left.
	panoramic
	Vertical Panoramic
	even try a circle

- You can do this with paper masks and a printed image or in photoshop - It is not that you are looking to produce final images - but rather experiment with images you have already taken to see how you could approach a similar subject in the future.

 

be critical and ask what the differences are between the images - what aesthetic effect do they have - does the meaning alter?
