Flash Filters
COLOUR
BALANCE.
All Flash units are balanced to standard daylight
film, and one should expect similar results to shooting daylight
film in daylight conditions.

However,
the colour of the light from any flash unit can be altered
across a wide range simply by placing a coloured filter in
front of the unit. Glass filters are by far the best as they
are less likely to be damaged by any heat that could arise
from the modeling lamp. However glass is heavy and not
all units have the facility to take glass filters. |

There
is a wide range of colour transparent filters that can be
used to alter the light falling onto the subject. |
|
Many
flash units each with a different colour filter can be used to play
light onto different areas of a subject.
