COLOUR BALANCE.
All Flash units are balanced to standard daylight film, and one should expect similar results to shooting daylight film in daylight conditions.

However, the colour of the light from any flash unit can be altered across a wide range simply by placing a coloured filter in front of the unit. Glass filters are by far the best as they are less likely to be damaged by any heat that could arise from  the modeling lamp. However glass is heavy and not all units have the facility to take glass filters.

There is a wide range of colour transparent filters that can be used to alter the light falling onto the subject.

Many flash units each with a different colour filter can be used to play light onto different areas of a subject.
