CAMERA MOVEMENTS

Unlike most cameras, the view camera has the ability to alter the planes of the film and lens to control both depth of field and perspective The view camera generally has four basic movements or adjustments that allow these "corrections" to be made. These adjustments allow the lens board and the ground glass to be realigned independently of each other.

2 Shift         -     horizontal movement.
This can be used with both the front standard where the lens is and the rear standard where the ground glass and film are.
