Wide angle lenses

It is even possible to make a recessed lens board for 4x5 that takes 35mm lens. While there are limitations in that there is no shutter and exposures have to be 1 second or longer, this also produces a circular image on the sheet of film. It allows lenses as wide as 20mm to be used.

Note the mirror at the bottom of the recess.

Although the numbers are back to front and upside down, the purpose of the mirror is to allow the photographer to read the aperture the lens is set at.
The release mechanism for the lock on the lens is on the inside of the lens board.
