Lloyd was contacted by Caleb Harris who is involved in a piece on James K Baxter for a journal called Palimpsesto to submit some of the images from Mythology of Place . The journal is the annual publication of the
Humanities Faculty at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá.
It's a high-profile and high-quality journal which puts a lot of
emphasis on its visual aspect, they like to illustrate the articles
with interesting original art and / or photos. The next edition will
come out later this year
26 th The editors are really pleased with the Baxter project and the photos, and
they would like to look at running the photos in a separate section
after the poems - which means they will be in a bigger format, up to
A4 size (ie, a complete page), and printed on high quality paper for
the best possible effect.

“The largest photosensitive emulsion that we know of is actually the planet itself. The fabric of intricate foliage that covers areas of the globe is an ever-developing image on the surface of the planet - a giant photographic abstraction.”
Lloyd Godman will transform Photospace into a Carbon Obscura, an “ephemeral sculpture” using thousands of pinholes. Audience members can come watch the installation process from the 1st – 5th Sept and enjoy the results from the 6th – 20th Sept.
To coincide with this exhibition Lloyd Godman will present a workshop on the 6th & 7th September. For more details on these activities, refer to www.photomedia.net.au in May. This exhibition will be held in the ANU School of Art Photography and Media Workshop, 1st Floor, Building 105, Childers Street, Acton.

Mythology of Place - This project is ready to be be published as a book
80 Pages - Photographs Lloyd Godman
Text Lawrence Jones & Lloyd Godman
Mythology of Place is published in three versions
• Free version- down loadable PDF - 7.1 mb - this is a low resolution file which you can download the file and print at your own standards - while the version is free normal copyright rules apply.
• High quality - while this is an open edition, each copy is numbered and dated - printed from a high resolution file on glossy paper stock and bound the edition has facing pages.
• Superb limited edition of 10 copies - signed, numbered and dated - printed from the highest quality files on high quality paper stock - the images are printed with Epson Ultrachrome pigments on Hahnemule 308 g/m paper and the edition is bound. A desirable collectors item.
As part of the Sustainability Festival at Kernot Hall, Morwell for the 9th and 10th of May 200, Godman has been commissioned to construct and install a large temporary installation (10.3m long - 4.1m wide and 4.2m high) - aCarbon Obscura - that reflects the GRID concept.
The work will consist of a tower that reflects the cooling tower of a coal fired generation plant. This tower has a doorway where the audience enter the darkened space, and the second space is a diminishing tunnel that represents a coal mine. The structure is covered with black opaque plastic and thousands of pin holes create drawings that let sunlight penetrate the space. As the audience enter the space they trigger a fog generator which materializes the ray of light.
