Frames

While it is possible to cut and assemble frames without expensive frame cutters and V nailers, by using hand saws and right angle clamps, there is no doubt that the use of sharp blades and good equipment make for a more refined finish.

Basic frame making equipment

Right angle clamp

  • Make sure the saw blade is sharp
  • Glue and nail the join for extra strength

V Nailer

This machine uses compressed air to drive V shaped nails across the join between the two sections of frame and creates a very strong join which can be difficult to twist of break.
