Original copy material - Slide - negative duplication - scanning

Before digital data projectors, 35mm slides were the best means of projecting images onto a screen, and many of these slides were often copied. Today we can either use the traditional method by making a direct copy of the slide onto another piece of transparency film or scan the original slide.

To make a copy onto another film, we ned to use a slide copier.

Areas for consideration

Elimination of dust marks

Practical reduction of contrast

• Faithful reproduction of tones – no loss of tonal detail in blacks or whites and no colour cast
• Sharp image from edge to edge of image
• Even illumination of original
• Tonal enhancement using filters if required

• No perspective distortion in the copy
• No light reflections in the copy
