White Balance - Investigation 1

1. Find a subject with a range of tones within a fixed colour. Say a subject with a range of oranges, reds and yellows, but no real whites, blues or greens.

2 . Set the camera up on a tripod and calculate the correct exposure. Take a series of images of the subject. For each shot alter the white balance setting. This might include, auto, full sun, shade, tungsten and fluorescent lights. If you camera lets you also shoot a frame on RAW. Make sure you write down which setting each frame was shot on.

3. Open all the images in the computer, and check the colour differences. Ideally, open the RAW file with photoshop raw converter and set the white balance to where you want it.
