Length of Enlarger Standard or Up Stand

Another extremely useful feature for an enlarger is an extra long standard for big enlargements. The higher the head of the enlarger can be raised, the larger the image is projected. A longer up stand can also be useful when using longer focal length lenses with smaller format negatives, i.e.. 150mm lens with 35mm negatives.
Be careful to check that the height of the enlarger allows you to fit it into your work space as there have been cases of enthusiastic photographers finding that the standard is too tall for the space they intend to place the equipment once they have it home.
