Negative Carriers

Glassless carriers are either:

* cut to allow an edge around the negative to be projected which produces a black boarder around the image. This also produces an photograph with the full area of the image shot by the camera. However, it is a more demanding job to align the negative in the carrier and there can be problems with light scatter from the edge into the image and also off a beveled arm of an easel onto the image during the exposure.

* cut to slightly crop into the area of the image shot by the camera. These are much easier to align the image and don't suffer from light scatter.
